JBG Smith Properties and the National Landing Business Improvement District teams up to renovate and improve the plaza right in front of Crystal City's metro station. Right where 18th Street S. meets S. Bell Street, you can now see additional seating options, more festive lighting, and new greenery such as trees and landscaping. A new mural on the Route 1 overpass wall would also be added, with local DC artist Lisa Marie Thalhammer's "Harmony" chosen for the piece.

“As more workers and visitors return to National Landing, we want them to be greeted with an inviting experience that shows the public just how excited we are to welcome them back to the neighborhood,” Tracy Sayegh Gabriel, president and executive director of the National Landing BID, said in a statement. The location is crucial as it serves as a busy intersection for commute and transportation in the area.

Some other projects by JBG Smith and the National Landing BID to look forward to include the new Metro entrance at 18th Street and Crystal Drive, a VRE redesign, a pedestrian connection to the Reagan National airport, and the transformation of Route 1 into a walkable urban boulevard.
